Day 1
Khor Virap Monastery-Areni -1 Cave Complex -Noravank Monastery – Spa town of Jermuk
Arrive at 4th century Khor Virap Monastery. Located in the Ararat Valley in Armenia, within 8 km (5 miles) from the border with Turkey, Khor Virap (meaning “deep dungeon” ) is the place where Gregory the Illuminator, who brought Christianity to Armenia was imprisoned for 13 years.
Continue towards Vayots Dzor province of Armenia, best known for its wine production. Stop for lunch at Areni Village Momik wines. Have a tour around the vineyard, and enjoy homemade delicacies and wine tasting. *Optional – cross stone masterclass with a professional and take you own handmade cross stone as a memory from Armenia. Continue to Areni-1 cave complex, where a 6100 year old winery discovered and a 5500 year old shoe was discovered in 2007 by a team of Armenian and Irish archaeologists. It is believed that Areni was founded by Noah and his sons who planted the first grapes there. Excavations held in the territory revealed a number
of items dating back to the Bronze and Iron Ages as well as the Hellenistic Era.
Visit 13th-century Noravank monastery, located in a narrow gorge made by the Amaghu River. View the gorge with its brick-red cliffs across from the monastery.
Continue to the spa town of Jermuk known for its mineral water and hot springs. Overnight in a hotel.
Day 2
Jermuk- Gndevank Monstery- Wings of Tatev cable car- Goris
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit Jermuk mineral water gallery. Optional – take the Jermuk cable car to reach the elevation of 2480 m. and stop for a coffee at a bar -cafe. Return back to Jermuk. Drive to 10th century Gndevank monastery. Continue towards “Wings of Tatev” the longest (5752 m) non stop cable car. Fly over the Vorotan Gorge and enjoy the breathtaking views from above. Stop for lunch at a restaurant to enjoy unique delicacies of Syunik province. Drive to city of Goris. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3
Goris – Khndzoresk- Goris Local Lore Museum
Breakfast at the hotel. Gata masterclass in the Hotel. Visit the house-museum of famous Armenian writer Aksel Bakunts. Continue to Cave Dwelling tour to Khndzoresk. Visit the 160 meter long swinging bridge in Khodzoresk. Stop by a small museum to see a demonstration of a typical cave home. Return back to Goris. Dolma and tan – yoghurt drink master class and lunch at Mirhav Hotel. Visit the local Lore Museum of Goris. Free time.
Dinner and overnight in Goris.
Day 4
Goris – city of Sisian- Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Sisian for pottery class and batik Painting at Sisian ceramics. Lunch at Basin Hotel in Sisian.
Return to Yerevan.
