Yerevan museum night

Springtime in Yerevan is lovely and eventful. The nice weather, the green city, and all the buzz are calling people to be out and about and enjoy life in the city.

A highlight of spring events is the Night of Museums. Usually organized on the third Saturday in May, this is an international event joining thousands of museums from 160 countries around the globe into a long night, during which museums invite everyone in free of charge. Sponsored by UNESCO, the Night of Museums is organized around the International Day of Museums. This year, it’s being celebrated on May 20.

While in Armenia, you can make the best of this one special night and visit or revisit over 100 museums in Yerevan and throughout the country. All museums open their doors to the public at midday and remain open till midnight.

All museums plan seriously for the day (and the night) with special exhibitions, various themed events, and concerts.

So, wear your walking shoes and plan to visit as many museums as you can, cause this year prizes are waiting for those who’ve made the most of the night and visited the largest number of museums!
